Can you take Wegovy (semaglutide) every other week?

No, you should not take Wegovy® every other week unless otherwise advised by your healthcare provider. According to the drug manufacturer’s website, Wegovy should be taken on the same day of the week at a time that is most convenient for you. It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. Because more than half of the medication will be removed from your body after seven days, taking Wegovy for weight loss every other week instead of weekly as recommended may result in inadequate levels of the drug in your body. There is no semaglutide maintenance dose every other week - the once weekly schedule needs to be maintained. If you miss a dose of Wegovy, take the medication as soon as you remember, but only if your next dose is more than two days away. If it has been more than two weeks since your last dose of Wegovy, contact your healthcare provider for further instruction, as you may need to restart the medication again at a lower dose.
