Can Mounjaro (tirzepatide) cause body aches?
No, body aches are not a known side effect of Mounjaro®. Common side effects of Mounjaro are nausea, heartburn, stomach upset, constipation and diarrhea. As it is an injectable medication, you may experience some soreness at the injection site. Keep in mind that Mounjaro is administered under the skin (subcutaneous) into fat and not directly into muscle. As there are various causes of body aches including, but not limited to, viral illnesses, other medications, overexertion, trauma, it is important to speak with your healthcare provider if you experience body aches while taking Mounjaro in order to determine the cause and how best to treat it.
