Do I give myself my Saxenda (liraglutide) injection?

Yes - you do give yourself the Saxenda® injection! Saxenda comes in an easy-to-administer pen that you can use at home. After preparing your injection site, take your Saxenda pen out of the fridge and attach a very small needle to it (separate prescription required for the needles), turn the dial to your dose, and press the needle into the skin on your abdomen, upper arm, or upper leg. The pen dial will turn to zero and click. You’ll hold for 6 seconds before pulling the pen away from your skin. Then, remove the needle from the pen and dispose of the needle properly. A new needle is needed each time you inject. We recommend you watch the video here and contact your healthcare provider if you have further questions.
