How long does it take for Ozempic (semaglutide) to work?

The time it takes to notice the effects of Ozempic® varies for each individual. When starting the medication, you will take a low dose so that your body can adjust to the medication and prevent significant side effects that may occur if taking higher doses too soon. Each month the dose is increased. If following the recommended titration schedule, after 3 months a patient would be just starting the highest dose of Ozempic (2mg). Some patients notice effects on their appetite at the lowest dose (0.25mg) while others need higher doses to have an effect. Finally, there are cases where individuals do not notice an effect of the medication at all even at the highest dose. It is important to discuss whether this medication is working for you or not with your medical provider.
