How much weight should I lose on Contrave?
The amount of weight lost on Contrave® will vary from person-to-person. In clinical trials studying the effects of Contrave, participants taking Contrave in combination with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity lost between 5 and 8% of their initial body weight, although the response is very variable, so some people lost less, and more weight loss was also observed.
Every person is going to respond differently to Contrave. When effective, Contrave tends to reduce appetite and cravings for certain foods, helping a person to eat less and lose weight. It is most effective for weight loss when used in combination with a reduced calorie diet and regular physical activity. If you are doing this and have not experienced at least a 5% reduction in your body weight after 3 months on the highest dose of Contrave, you should discuss with your healthcare professional if this is the right medication for you.
