How do I switch from Saxenda to Wegovy (liraglutide to semaglutide)?

In order to switch from Saxenda® to Wegovy® you will have to transition from the daily injection of Saxenda to a weekly injection of Wegovy. Switching from Saxenda to Wegovy should be done under careful supervision by your doctor to prevent adverse effects. Your doctor can also help you decide how to switch from Saxenda to Wegovy with the best dosing schedule for you. It may be possible to start at a higher dose of Wegovy (rather than the usual initial starting dose of 0.25 mg) depending on the dose of Saxenda® you are currently taking. Your prescribing medical provider will make specific recommendations on switching from Saxenda to Wegovy. There are many different reasons why one might (or might not) transition from Saxenda to Wegovy, so it is best to discuss this with your medical provider if you are thinking you would like to make a change.
