How long can Wegovy (semaglutide) stay out of the fridge?
Wegovy® can stay out of the fridge for up to 28 days as long as the temperature is between 46°F to 86°F. However, it is recommended to store Wegovy in the refrigerator and keep it in the original box to protect it from light per the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure to keep the pen cap on until you are ready to inject, as the pen will no longer be sterile if stored without the cap.
How long to leave Wegovy out before injecting?
Some patients may find it more comfortable to let the Wegovy pen warm up before injecting the medicine into their skin, so you may want to leave Wegovy out at room temperature for 30-60 minutes first before you do your injection. Be sure not to drop your pen or knock it against hard surfaces, expose the pen to any liquids, and never use pens that could be damaged. Remember, while Wegovy® can be out of the fridge for a limited time, proper storage is key to ensuring it remains effective.
